How I Lost My Eye | John Pacey-Lowrie, Artificial Eye Clinic, UK

John Pacey-Lowrie Limited

It’s a story that’s hard to tell and most likely one you’ve told a thousand times.

The thing is though, not enough people in this world know about it…

We want to change this.

With ‘The Ocularist’ mini-series now coming to an end, the team feel it’s incredibly important to show the other side of the story. The story that really matters. Your story.

Our followers, our trainees and our patients know about the job we do here at the clinic… I mean we’ve got a short documentary and a series about it online! But no one really knows the reason we have to do what we do.

For a lot of people around the world who have gone through the trauma of losing an eye, it can be a very lonely time. They need to know that someone else in this big wide world went through what they are going through, and that you made it out the other end with a smile on your face (hopefully!).

What we’d like to do is to create an ongoing series of short videos for our website that tell your story and show the journey you’ve had.

There are two ways you can help us do this:

1. You could film and interview yourself using a mobile phone or a video camera. 2. You could invite John and Fraser (John’s son and cameraman) to your house, or any location of your choosing, to film and interview you.

Remember - your best interests are at heart here. We just want the world to know that you’re a champion!

If you’re interested in helping us with this project please email Fraser at

We have a few patients helping us already, now all we need is you.
